Theatre

The Bak Theatre Department has created a comprehensive theatre program that operates as a studio for instruction in performance and technical areas, as well as a Theatre for Young Audiences offering high quality performances for our student population, visiting schools, and the general public.

We offer grade level showcases, short play festivals, musical revues and major productions including Shakespeare, children’s plays¸ Broadway musicals¸ musical revues, contemporary theatre, and original works.

Affiliated with the Educational Theatre Association, Bak’s Troupe 88441 of the Jr. International Thespian Society is the largest in the state. ITS is an honor society offering all Bak students from all art departments the opportunity to develop skills and interests in all aspects of theatre including performance events, playwriting, scenic design, set design, publicity design, and the one act play. Our troupe has earned top ratings and Critic’s Choice awards year after year at the district and state levels.
